Operational Buyer.

And do you want to play a key role in the success of our projects within the food and pet food industry? Then Selo is looking for you as our new Operations Buyer.
What will you do as an Operations Buyer?
As an Operational Buyer, you are responsible for the daily execution of the purchasing process. You monitor the progress of orders, actively follow up on deliveries, and ensure that our projects can proceed without disruptions.
You are the link between planning, work preparation, assembly, and purchasing. During the daily kick-off, you provide the correct input regarding material availability. You identify risks early and escalate to the project or strategic buyer where necessary.
In short: you ensure control, overview, and stability in a dynamic project environment.
Tasks and responsibilities
- You place purchase orders within contractual agreements and carefully check order confirmations.
- You monitor delivery times and actively follow up on critical deliveries (expediting).
- You monitor outstanding orders daily and report bottlenecks to project purchasing.
- You ensure correct administrative processing in the ERP system and guarantee data reliability.
- You continuously coordinate with planning and work preparation to guarantee material availability.
- You minimize rush orders by looking ahead and acting proactively.
- You monitor the stock of standard items and work according to fixed work instructions and procedures.
- You initiate escalations to the strategic buyer when delivery reliability is under pressure.
- You proactively contribute to continuous improvement by critically examining your own work and processes and proposing improvements.
- You work closely with the Project/Strategic Buyer, Work Planner, Assembly Supervisor, and Material Handling. Within this framework, you take ownership of material execution.

Your salary depends on your knowledge and experience. In addition, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the further professionalization of our Supply Chain.

ABOUT YOU
You are structured, have strong communication skills, and maintain an overview — even when pressure mounts. You feel at home in an ERP-driven environment and understand the importance of process discipline in a project-based production environment.
To be successful in this role, you bring the following experience:
- MBO+ or HBO working and thinking level, preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Engineering
- 2–5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
- Experience in an ERP-driven organization
- Experience in a project-based manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Good command of Dutch and English
- You are analytical, proactive, and collaborative. You are relatively at the beginning or middle of your career. Not as a junior, but as a professional who dares to take ownership and wants to grow.
