What will you do as a Financial Controller?
As a Financial Controller at Selo, you lead a team of three colleagues with a no-nonsense attitude where initiative and openness are valued. In this role, you are the person responsible for optimizing and further developing our financial processes, with plenty of room for your own initiative.
You work closely with the business, liaise with the CFO, and are the primary point of contact for external parties such as accountants. This position is interesting if you do not just want to “keep up,” but rather want to build. You will be challenged to improve processes and have a direct influence on the organization’s financial direction. It is a role with visibility towards management and stakeholders, combining strategy with hands-on execution.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Optimizing the finance and accounting processes, specifically focused on further integrating our ERP package Ridder IQ and setting up project control systems.
- Automating financial processes in a project-driven organization to maximize efficiency and ensure accuracy, including project control, work in progress, and reporting based on revenue recognition.
- Improving working capital and the associated cash flow.
- Conducting monthly, quarterly, and year-end audits and acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and other stakeholders.
- Timely identification, mapping, and minimization of financial risks.
- Setting up operational audit-related activities and processes.
- Monitoring compliance with laws and regulations regarding IFRS and tax rules.

ABOUT YOU
You are someone who takes ownership, is sharp on content, and continuously seeks improvement. You switch easily between operations and strategy and know how to bring others along.
To be successful in this role, you bring the following baggage:
- A higher professional education (HBO), Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Economics, Accountancy or similar (Hovam or SPD).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in similar financial roles in a small to mid-sized company.
- Experience with consolidation and ICT-related projects.
- Good management skills.
- Strong analytical skills and a clear vision of processes.
- Good communication skills and stakeholder management skills.
- You proactively combine a hands-on mentality with energy, focus, and a strong drive to achieve above-average results.
- Good command of Dutch and English; an additional language is a plus.
