What will you do as a Senior PLC Software Engineer?
As a Senior PLC Software Engineer, you work on designing, developing, and maintaining control software for process installations within the food industry. You are actively involved in the technical side, but also play an important role within the team.
You are a driving force: someone who maintains an overview, takes initiative, and helps colleagues advance. You do not have a formal leadership role, but you are a natural point of contact and actively contribute to the quality and working methods within the team.
Tasks and responsibilities
- You contribute to finding solutions for clients and translate this into a software architecture.
- You design, develop, and maintain advanced control software.
- You support and coach colleagues on complex technical issues.
- You are a connecting link within the team and with other departments.
- You initiate and implement improvements in software quality and working methods.
- You support your manager in planning tasks and developing the team.

About you
You are an experienced software engineer who combines technical skills with initiative and a sense of responsibility. You get energy from improving processes and helping colleagues, without needing a formal leadership role.
To be successful in this role, you bring the following experience:
- Higher professional or university level working and thinking skills in a technical field.
- Experience with PLC/automation (e.g. Siemens or Allen-Bradley).
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience with relevant standards or interest in developing this (e.g. ANSI/ISA-88, ISO 27001 and the Machinery Regulation).
- Dutch and English language proficiency.
- You communicate easily and connect people.
